गुरु गोबिन्द सिंह सिक्खो के दसवें धार्मिक गुरु थे। वे एक गुरु ही नहीं बल्कि एक महान दार्शनिक, निडर योद्धा, प्रख्यात कवि, अनुभवी लेखक और संगीत के पारखी भी थे। वे अपने पिता गुरु तेग बहादुर के उत्तराधिकारी बने। सिर्फ 9 वर्ष की आयु में सिक्खों के नेता बने एवं अंतिम सिक्ख गुरु बने रहे।
गुरु गोबिंद सिंह जी ने न सिर्फ अपने महान उपदेशों के माध्यम से लोगों को सही दिशा दिखाई, बल्कि उन्होंने समाज में हो रहे अपराधों और अत्याचारों के खिलाफ भी विरोध किया एवं खालसा पंथ की स्थापना की जो सिख धर्म के इतिहास की सबसे महत्वपूर्ण घटना के तौर पर अंकित है।
गुरु गोबिंद सिंह जी ने लोगों को आपस में प्रेम और भाईचारे के साथ मिलजुल कर रहने का संदेश दिया।
✓ प्रत्येक मनुष्य को अपनी कमाई का दसवां हिस्सा दान करना चाहिए।
(Every human being should donate one tenth of his earnings.)
✓ व्यक्ति को अपना कार्य़ सदा ही ईमानदारी के साथ पूर्ण करना चाहिए।
(One should always complete his work with honesty.)
✓ व्यक्ति को काम के दौरान आलस्य से बचना चाहिए।
(One should avoid laziness during work.)
✓ किसी भी व्यक्ति को अपनी जाति, धर्म आदि पर कभी घंमड नहीं करना चाहिए।
(No person should ever be proud of his caste, religion etc.)
✓ व्यक्ति को दुश्मन के सामने जाने से पहले उसके बारे में सब कुछ जान लेना चाहिए।
(One should know everything about the enemy before going before him.)
✓ मनुष्य को किसी दूसरे व्यक्ति की निंदा से सदैव बचना चाहिए।
(One should always avoid condemnation of another person.)
✓ एक इंसान को हमेशा जरूरतमंदों की मदद के लिए तैयार रहना चाहिए।
(A person should always be ready to help the needy.)
✓ व्यक्ति को स्वास्थ्य की देखभाल नियमित तौर पर करनी चाहिए। इसके लिए व्यायाम इत्यादि का सहारा लेना चाहिए।
(One should take care of health regularly. For this, you should take the help of exercise etc.)
✓ व्यक्ति को नशा और तंबाकू के सेवन से बचना चाहिए।
(One should avoid the use of intoxicants and tobacco.)
✓ जो मनुष्य सदैव अपने भविष्य को लेकर चिंतित रहता है, वह अपना वर्तमान भी खो देता है।
(The man who is always worried about his future, he also loses his present.)
✓ जब आपके मन से अंहकार की समाप्ति हो जाती है, तभी आपको वास्तविक शांति मिलती है।
(When the ego disappears from your mind, only then you get real peace.)
✓ भगवान ने हमें मनुष्य का जन्म इसलिए दिया है ताकि हम समाज से बुराई का सर्वनाश कर सकें।
(God has given us the birth of man so that we can annihilate evil from the society.)
✓ एक मनुष्य का दूसरे मनुष्य से प्रेम होना ही ईश्वर के प्रति सच्ची आस्था का प्रतीक है।
(The love of one man to another is a sign of true faith in God.)
✓ मनुष्य द्वारा किए गए अच्छे कार्य़ से ही उसे ईश्वर की प्राप्ति हो सकती है।
(God can be attained only by good deeds done by a man.)
✓ आपदा के समय जब व्यक्ति के पास सारे विकल्प खत्म हो जाएं तभी उसे तलवार उठानी चाहिए।
(At the time of disaster, when all the options are exhausted with the person, then only he should take up the sword.)
✓ मनुष्य को कभी भी किसी कमजोर व्यक्ति पर अस्त्र नहीं उठाना चाहिए। अन्यथा विधाता आपका ख़ून बहाता है।
(One should never raise a weapon on a weak person. Otherwise the Creator sheds your blood.)
✓ ईश्वर सदा ही अपने सच्चे भक्तों की मदद करता है और मुसीबत में उसे सहारा देता है।
(God always helps his true devotees and supports them in trouble.)
✓ गुरु को सदैव ही ऊंचा दर्जा देना चाहिए क्योंकि ईश्वर तक ले जाने का वहीं एकमात्र रास्ता होता है।
(Guru should always be given a high status because that is the only way to lead to God.)
✓ गुरु की सच्चे मन से सेवा करने मात्र से ही व्यक्ति के सारे दुख दूर हो जाते हैं।
(Only by serving the Guru with a sincere heart, all the miseries of a person are removed.)
✓ अज्ञानी व्यक्ति पूर्ण रूप से अंधा होता है क्योंकि उसे बहुमूल्य वस्तुओं की कोई पहचान नहीं होती है।
(An ignorant person is completely blind because he has no identity of valuables.)
✓ जो व्यक्ति सदैव ही ईश्वर का स्मरण करता है, वह जन्म मरण के चक्र से मुक्ति पा लेता है।
(One who always remembers God, he gets freedom from the cycle of birth and death.)
✓ मनुष्य को उस गुरु के उपदेशों का पूर्ण रूप से पालन करना चाहिए जो उसे ईश्वर तक ले जाता है।
(One must follow the teachings of the Guru who leads him to God.)
✓ व्यक्ति का स्वार्थ ही उसके मन में अनेक गलत विचारों को जन्म देता है।
(Selfishness of a person gives rise to many wrong thoughts in his mind.)
✓ समस्त विचार जो व्यक्ति को ईश्वर की भक्ति से दूर करते हैं। मैं उनकी निन्दा करता हूं।
(All thoughts that distance a person from the devotion of God. I condemn them.)
✓ इस दुनिया में कर्म करते हुए ईश्वर को याद करो और उनके द्वारा दिखाए गए मार्ग का अनुसरण करो।
(While working in this world, remember God and follow the path shown by him.)
✓ मनुष्य को सदैव अपने से किए गए वादों पर खरा उतरने की कोशिश करनी चाहिए।
(Man should always try to live up to the promises made to him.)
✓ ईश्वर ही इस ब्रह्माण्ड के रचियता है और वही सब मनुष्यों का दुख हरने वाले हैं।
(God is the creator of this universe and he is the remover of all human suffering.)
✓ इस दुनिया में ईश्वर से बड़ा क्षमाकर्ता कोई नहीं है।
(There is no greater forgiver in this world than God.)
✓ सच्चे मन से ईश्वर का ध्यान करने से व्यक्ति को सुख की अनुभूति होती है।
(By meditating on God with a sincere heart, a person experiences happiness.)
